Event Details: The Anatomy of a Biohazard Scene Claim
Speaker(s): Don Gilmartin worked in the construction and development industry since 1999. In 2013, Don directed his talent towards building restoration and never looked back. In 2015, Don dedicated his career and passion to Crime, Trauma and Biohazard clean up. Don developed a deeper understanding of what Trauma Scene cleaning was and how it not only related to damaged property but as an opportunity to build client relationships on scene during client’s “worst day ever”. Don observed the deep emotional scaring which envelopes clients served by the carrier industry. What was evident during these times was the need to bridge and protect both the client and the carrier from the unregulated side of the biohazard industry.
Don set his sights on becoming the industry Biohazard leader by merging independent operators in both the trauma and restoration industry with an Xactimate standard to protect carriers and substantiate claims for the clients who needed to affect a claim.
Don’s vision aligns with the funeral industry as he joins boards of local and now, state legislative associations for the funeral industry. Don’s plan is to build industry oversite and protection since the biohazard cleanup industry touches on mental illness, veteran care, and drug lab cleaning which can be catastrophic.
As CEO of the VELEOS Company, Don, the VELEOS Board and its Advisors are on their way to setting a new industry standard which deals with industry shortcomings and propels future growth in biohazard cleanup.
