DESCRIPTION:Alan Haywood | How is a Fatal Accident Investigated by DPS?\n Please RSVP by Monday\, February 15th. \nREGISTER FOR EVENT\n \nEvent Details\nHow is a Fatal Accident Investigated by DPS? \nSpeaker\nSergeant Alan Haywood has been with the Arizona Department of Public Safety for sixteen years. He is currently assigned as a supervisor for the DPS Vehicular Crimes Unit\, Major Crimes District. He is currently assigned as a supervisor for the DPS Vehicular Crimes Unit\, Major Crimes District. \nSergeant Haywood’s previous assignments included positions as a Patrol Supervisor for Central Patrol\, a Detective with the Vehicular Crimes Unit\, the Impaired Driving Training Coordinator at DPS\, at the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety as the State Phlebotomy Coordinator and various other Impaired Driver related programs. Prior to his assignment at GOHS\, he was the Impaired Driver Training Coordinator at Arizona DPS\, encompassing the DRE\, SFST\, and Phlebotomy Training Programs. Prior to that assignment\, Haywood was assigned as a Trooper with the Highway Patrol Division assigned to the Metro DUI Enforcement Unit.\nThanks to Dan Perez from Subrosa for sponsoring the February meeting social hour\nAlan Haywood has been a Drug Recognition Expert since 2003\, A DRE Instructor since 2004\, as well as an instructor in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST)\, Advanced Roadside Impaired Driver Enforcement (ARIDE)\, Drug Impairment Training for Education Professionals (DITEP)\, and Older Driver Education. Haywood has been a law enforcement phlebotomist since June 2002. He holds a degree in Law Enforcement Technology and is adjunct faculty at Maricopa County Community Colleges. He has presented at numerous seminars around Arizona and nationally on impaired driver related subjects\, including the Law Enforcement Phlebotomy Program\, Field Sobriety Testing\, Drug Recognition\, restraint safety\, and numerous other highway safety programs. Haywood has received numerous awards for his contributions to traffic safety\, including the 2002 and 2008 Arizona MADD Award for Outstanding DPS Officer\, the FOP Outstanding DPS Officer\, and Officer of the year three times for the different DPS divisions he has worked. \n\n\nInterested in being a guest speaker? DESCRIPTION:Joe Nowikowski\, P.E.\, CFEI\, Rimkus Electrical Division Manager | Not your Typical Electrical Presentation – 102\n Please RSVP by Monday\, September 14th. \nREGISTER FOR EVENT\n \nEvent Details\nThis educational and extremely entertaining presentation will provide a basic knowledge and understanding of how electricity is produced\, delivered to the home and subsequently used.   Joe will provide demonstrations of how various electrical systems actually can cause fires.  He will also cover some items to look for in identifying what might have prevented such fires. \nSpeaker\nWith over 30 years of experience\, Mr.  Nowikowski has a diverse background in electrical engineering\, construction and management in the private sector and also in the public sector where he served as an Officer in the United States Air Force. He is a Professional Engineer in 15 states as well as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator. In addition to his business experience\, he is a part time college Instructor where he serves as the Lead Faculty Area Chair of the Mathematics Department.Thanks to Rimkus Consulting Group\, Inc. for sponsoring the September meeting social hour\nMr. Nowikowski’s forensic engineering experience includes residential & commercial wiring\, medium voltage substations\, residential and commercial kitchen appliances\, battery operated vehicles and devices\, traffic signals\, lighting\, laundry appliances\, electrical aquarium components\, power taps\, printed circuit board\, portable generators\, variable frequency drives\, batteries\, HVAC units\, underground wiring\, bathroom ventilation fans\, and service entrance sections\, high-end home automation systems.
